Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund is a fair trade enterprise established in 2002 to promote arts and crafts made by Palestinian men and women artisans. PCWF operates throughout the United States and Europe through volunteers and staff coordinated by Riad Elsolh Hamad who resides in Austin, Texas in the United States. Riad Elsolh Hamad has been living in Austin for the last 35 years with an impeccable record in serving the community and activism for human and civil rights for various national and ethnic groups.
There are several articles online by Joe Kaufman, an alleged investigative journalist of Frontpagemag.org, MilitantIslammonitor.org, Campus Watch and NGO Monitor.org by Dori Gold from The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs alleging that Riad Hamad, in his capacity as the coordinator for PCWF has “ links to terrorism in the West Bank and Gaza.” Also, the articles suggest that Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund allegedly is a “ Militant Islamic charity based in the Gaza strip.” Both statements are false, misrepresentation of facts and fraud being perpetrated against the public in the United States. PCWF is based in the United States and works within the laws of the United States and the states that it holds its activities. Daniel Pipes, Dori Gold, David Horowitz, Joe Kaufman are perpetrating fraud against the public by publishing slanderous and defamatory articles against Riad Elsolh Hamad and PCWF along with many other human rights groups. The purpose of the publications is to intimidate any one who dares question their lies, fabrications and to support their racist ideologies and the policies of ethnic cleansing that they promote in Palestine.
A lawsuit was filed in the Western Division of the Federal Court system of the United States during April 2006 against David Horowitz, Joe Kaufman, Daniel Pipes, MilitantIslammonitor.org and others who published and republished the articles. During the discovery in the civil action, neither David Horowitz or any of the defendants was able to bring one iota of evidence to support their fraud, lies and allegations that Riad Elsolh Hamad or Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund were engaged or participated in any criminal or violent activities in Palestine or anywhere on earth. Additionally, Riad Hamad has obtained an official letter from the Department of Justice of the United under the Freedom of Information Act stating that there are absolutely no records or investigations relating Riad Elsolh Hamad or Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund to any criminal or violent activities.
The statements by Daniel Pipes Campus Watch, Dori Gold who is also associated with the Center For Jewish Community Studies in Baltimore, Maryland, Joe Kaufman chairman of Americans Against Hate and David Horowitz were made with total disregard to the truth and intended to defraud the public of donations and money to promote their racist agenda against Arabs and Muslims. MilitantIslamMonitor.org turned out to be a scam as the discovery in the lawsuit showed that the website unlawfully used the telephone number of the facilities of the Adult Correctional Services of the State of Illinois. Also, the website used the address of a medical collections services in Peoria, Illinois and they could not be served. The office of the Attorney General of the State of Illinois has referred the matter to the Office of Internet Crimes which is looking into the matter and to determine the next steps. The website is closely linked to Joe Kaumfan, Pipes and Horowitz and has many links to the sites and promote their unlawful fraud upon the public.
On the other hand, Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund and Riad Elsolh Hamad would like to advise the public that the websites listed above are engaged in criminal activities and fraud upon the public by collecting donations amounting to tens of millions of dollars. The donations are being used to fund illegal activities in the United States and Israel and with the knowledge of the government of the United States and the judicial branch. Horowitz, Kaufman, Pipes and Militantislammonitor.org pose as professional journalists to raise money by providing the public with lies, fabrications and misstatements of facts. These individuals along with their organizations are using illegal means to support their racist agenda and to create animosity between the peoples of the United States and the Arab and Muslim communities around the world. We urge the public to take the utmost care when reading their propaganda and to ask the local and federal authorities to investigate them for the crimes they have committed and continue to commit under the pretext of “ professional journalism.”
