Our philosophical thought for the day comes from a recent email conversation I had with a former work colleague who has gone on to government work, thus creating all sorts of new time for himself for longer writing.
“In Enter the Dragon,” my friend writes, “Bruce Lee has a short chat with a lad about life. He states that life is like a finger pointing to the moon. The young lad looks at Bruce’s finger and gets a slap around the head which Bruce accompanies with the words ‘Do not concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory.’ It looks better on the screen, but you get my point. If we don’t dream then what is all that effort and work actually contributing towards.”

An old televised debate gets new life from even older footage from a Bruce Lee. Combines my twin loves of Kung-fu movies and a good ol’e smack down of a rabid right-wingnut. Norman Finkelstein scores knock-out roundhouse kicks in both rounds against Alan Dershowitz in this Democracy Now bout. Geek note: So I created this post to try out the Viper’s Video Quicktags plugin. I don’t mind it, but am looking for a plugin that renders video from YouTube, Google, iFilm, The Onion and so forth in the post editing panal so as to allow text-wrapping, alignment, etc. and doesn’t conflict with WordPress 2.3. Still, if you’re looking for a simple embedding tool, this one could work. Get more on it here.
