Brad speaks: The full statement of Bradley Manning to the military court

Note from yours truly: The audio file below comes from this source. Never passing up a chance to populate the site with decent content without actually having to type it, I was pleased to see that the Freedom of the Press Foundation has today released a recording of Bradley Manning’s entire statement to a closed military court. Previously leaked in parts, this is the first time the American public, or anyone really, has been able to hear the authentic voice of the person at the heart of so many scandals of the previous and present White House administration. Manning’s act not only offered another piece of evidence in the abuse the United States inflicted on the people of Iraq, but also showed how the United States will respond when these actions are put in the spotlight. It is not a democracy when someone is accused in public without the right to make his or her case to the same audience.
