(Reflections and Vigil)
7:00 pm
First Christian Church
7th and Franklin Streets, downtown Olympia
Please join us in remembrance, inspiration, and our move to action in tribute to Rachel Corrie. Rachel was killed three years ago on March 16, 2003, as she stood for justice defending the home of a Palestinian family. Since that time much has occurred in our community and around the world as a result of Rachel’s stand, and many people have made changes in their own lives after being inspired by her commitment and bravery.
We invite you to participate in this gathering in the following ways:
Remembrance: Share memories of Rachel as a friend, activist, coworker, student or otherwise.
Inspiration: Contribute how Rachel’s life and death affected you or led to changes in your life. Or, share a piece of Rachel’s writings that moves you. Many of Rachel’s emails can be read at Rachel Corrie Dot Org.
Action: Share ways in which you are working for a just peace for the people of Palestine/Israel or for a fair and independent investigation into Rachel’s death.
If you’d like, bring a finger food to share. Coffee and tea will be provided. Dress warmly for the vigil to Percival Landing following and bring your dancing shoes for later on…
at Yes Yes, 320 4th Ave W, downtown Olympia
From 9:00 PM until the Occupation ends
Because not only do we know right from wrong, we know our right foot from our left. DJ PHAN will bring you the greatest hits of the 20th and 21st centuries. Today the dancefloor, tomorrow the world!
