So does data entry sound at all sexy if the distant racket of machine gun fire breaks the silence every now and again? Probably not, but welcome to media work in Ramallah. The clash sounds like it’s coming from somewhere from the direction fo the Palestinian Authority headquarters. Kids are shooting off fire crackers all day around here. Little boys stand in alleys and throw them casually as they stand around in small packs. That has aloud, but lower, sound. More bass. The guns are sharp and high. “So that’s…” I started to ask noting the location of my head in relation to the window. “Some group with a problem with the PA,” Quba, another ISm media office regular said. So I kept typing fax numbers into this laptop. And every once in a while the gunfire would erupt over yonder. And after a while, I just forgot about it. Unitl just now that is, when I sat down here to update the site and though, what’s so damned interesting to blog about today? All I did was copy and paste a bunch of names and numbers.
